User Experience Design at CERN?

Let's create better experiences for services and software together

We are a community supporting each other in creating services, both physical and digital. We believe the best way to create valuable products and services is by understanding the user's desires and not by saying "we think the user might likes this."

We organise monthly meet-ups. Our objectives are:

Improve the understanding of UX Design

Interviewing users and conducting user tests isn't hard. We encourage people at CERN to really test their products by showing how easy conducting tests is.

Support each other

A little effort can make a big difference. Reviewing each others work and brainstorming together on solutions can take a process to the next level.

Bring departments together

Departments can learn a lot from each others processes, reseearch and developed products. We can take benefit from our past experiences by sharing.

Have fun

Ultimately, designing experiences and seeing how users are interacting with your designs and prototypes is simply good fun.

What does a monthly meet-up contain?

Share insights on conducted user research at CERN

Post-user-test analysis can give insights on the behaviour and expectations of the CERN population.

Give introductions to useful tools and techniques

User Experience Design isn't that hard. With the right tools and techniques it's even easier.

Share usability studies / best practices

Applying usability best practices in your initial designs can save you a few rounds of user tests.

Collaborate on UI and service design challenges

Designersblock? No problem. We can show each other great new solutions during brainstorming sessions.

Conduct user tests together

Why recruting test users if they are available in our own community?
